Overview and History

In 2006, the Pennsylvania Department of Education required school districts to start keeping track of Body Mass Index for all kindergarten through twelfth-grade students. The Pennsylvania Department of Education has also required changes in school cafeteria food offerings. Armstrong School District has met this challenge with the help of its students, staff, parents, Board of School Directors and community agencies working together as the HEALTHY Armstrong partnership.

HEALTHY Armstrong

HEALTHY Armstrong is a collaborative group made up of ACMH Hospital, Armstrong School District, Children’s Community Pediatrics-Armstrong, UPMC Health Plan and numerous other community partners all working together to increase wellness opportunities for Armstrong County families and youth.
