West Shamokin recently hosted a remarkable Veterans Day program, where they dedicated a brand new Veterans Memorial Monument. The event took place on November 9th, and it was made possible thanks to the generous contributions of local businesses and individuals who donated their time and money to make this project a reality.

Armstrong students are working together in a program that promotes inclusion through "unified classes," pairing intellectually disabled students with others in health, physical education, and family consumer sciences classes.

Armstrong High School student-athletes recently visited West Hills Intermediate and West Hills Primary Schools in a heartwarming display of community engagement and mentorship. This visit served as a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) reward for the elementary students who have consistently met expectations throughout the school year. The occasion was marked by an array of physical challenges and activities, with the aim of fostering camaraderie between the older athletes and their younger counterparts.

Three Armstrong School District educators appeared this summer at the National Autism Conference at Penn State to deliver a presentation on autistic support classrooms.

Leslie Moore teaches life skills and autistic support to seventh and eighth graders at Armstrong Jr.-Sr. High School said the presentation showcased different teaching and organizational strategies she uses in her classroom. She was joined by paraprofessionals Madison Goldinger and Carrie Burtt, who worked in Moore's classroom last year.
